Handlebar
Last night, Courtney used our leftover rotting bananas to make some banana bars. Theyre awesome. And our whole house smells like bananas.
This morning, she decided that she needed some banana bars for breakfast. So she sat down at the table with the kids and a big plate of banana bars.
So Ethan, in all of his 2-year old glory, asked if he can have a bite of handlebar. He repeated himself several times, clear as day.
This almost tops the one time not long ago when we were having chocolate pudding. He was convinced that instead we were eating chocolate pooping. And it was delicious. ![]()

What is a banana bar? If it is anything like banana bread, I would love it! The only thing banana I dont like are the banana now-and-laters and the banana runts.

This is pretty close to the recipe...
Frosted Banana Bars
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups firm bananas, mashed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 15-by-10-inch jelly roll pan.
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, bananas and vanilla.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Pour into greased pan and bake 25 minutes or until bars test done. Cool and frost as follows.
Frosting
1/2 cup butter, softened
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Cream butter and cream cheese in mixing bowl. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat well. Spread over bars. Makes 3 dozen.

I have created a recipe tag and have applied it to this blog. Ah, the internets. Just a tube of magical wonder.

Good splitzers! Thats his latest. He likes to sit on his bottom and straddle his legs to do the splits. But he got a little carried away with the terminology.
You need to make a little section on here where we can just add these things to the list.
And now he is telling Mia to do things For prizes, Mia. Forty, forty, forty.

Sounds to me like Ethan wants Mia to do something for a 40 ounce King Cobra.

Thanks, Courtney for the recipe. It was pretty easy to make, and so yum!
